Jaime Garcia will pitch in the first game of the series for the Cardinals. Garcia took on the Mariners in his last start and allowed five earned runs on ten hits through 5.2 innings. The Brewers will counter with Matt Garza. Garza was in charge of the Nationals in his previous outing and held Washington to four earned runs through six innings.

In the second game of the series, St. Louis will give the ball to Adam Wainwright. Wainwright, though tagged for six earned runs, was not bad in his last start by any stretch, punching out seven Royals and walking one through five innings. On the other side, Milwaukee will go with Jimmy Nelson. Nelson faced the stacked Nationals lineup when he took the mound last and held the team to one hit through five frames.

Michael Wacha will start for the Cardinals in the series finale. Wacha was fairly sharp in his last outing, spinning six innings and allowing three tallies. The Brew Crew will tab Chase Anderson. Anderson went four innings in his last start against the Dodgers, surrendering five earned runs on eight hits.

Who’s hot?

MIL: Jonathan Lucroy, catcher. Lucroy is batting .296 over his last fifteen games with five walks and ten RBIs.

STL: Jhonny Peralta, third baseman. Peralta is 4-for-14 over his last three games with a homer, his third of the season.
